Day 1 - Arusha City to Tarangire National Park

Your safari adventure begins today! You will be picked up by our professional driver guide from your hotel in Arusha and you will get a safari briefing then start driving to Tarangire National Park. The park is well-known for its large elephant herds and abundance of ancient baobab trees (the largest trees on the continent).

 

From the open roof of the vehicle, you will experience the seasonal swamps, savanna, and Tarangire River which is full of wildlife ranging from a large variety of birds to giraffes, impalas, zebras, lions, leopards, elands, warthogs and elephants. Later, you will drive to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day - 2 Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you proceed via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area traversing the Malanja Depression towards Serengeti one of the most famous wildlife conservation areas in the world.

 

First, you will make a brief stop at the Naabi Hill Gate where you can go for a short walk at the Naabi Hill Kopjes (huge granite boulders) where you can stretch your legs as your guide sorts out the paperwork. After lunch, at the picnic site at the gate, you continue on game drives all afternoon at the vast Serengeti National Park, named after the ancient Masai word ‘Siringet’, which translates to ‘endless plains’.

 

Truly the plains are endless indeed. Overnight at Serengeti Heritage Tented Camp  but if you opt for a Camping safari you sleep at Seronera Campsite

Day 3 - Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation area.

Early morning game drives at Serengeti and visit the hippo pools and Seronera Visitor’s Center if you wish. After a hearty breakfast in the bush camp, you will then proceed with your game drives in the Serengeti backtracking towards Naabi Hill Gate again until early afternoon time to cross over back to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you reach your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

 

Overnight will be back at the nice mid-range lodge in Ang’ata or Rhino Lodge or if you opt for a Camping safari you will overnight at Simba Campsite

Day 4 -  Ngorongoro Crater back to Arusha 

After an early breakfast, You will descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife. Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro conservation Area supports avast animals, including herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants.

 

Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its dense predator population, including lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater.

 

Many flamingos, hippos, and other water birds can usually be seen here. Late afternoon transfer to Arusha For dinner and Overnight or airport drop off to Zanzibar. ( Accommodation can be included upon request at extra cost )

What can I fit in during a 4-day safari in Tanzania?

"Consider the following options when planning your safari in Tanzania. To avoid moving lodge or campsite every day, I suggest spending all three nights in one location or splitting them across two locations. In the Northern safari circuit, you can easily fit two parks in a 4-day tour, such as a visit to the famous Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater. Additionally, Lake Manyara and Tarangire National Parks are close to Arusha National Park and can be combined with a visit to the Ngorongoro Crater in a 4-day safari.

 

It's also possible to visit Lake Manyara, Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro Crater in a 4-day safari, but be aware that it involves covering quite a bit of distance. Visiting all four of the Northern Circuit parks in 4 days is just about possible, but not recommended.

 

Alternatively, a 4-day safari can be arranged to visit southern Tanzania. Either Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve) or Ruaha National Park can be visited on its own as a stand-alone fly-in safari from Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar. Another option is to drive to Nyerere and visit Mikumi National Park en route."
